Leírás:
"Poetry is perhaps the most difficult of the literary genres to discuss, even with the advent of new forms of intermedial, multimedial, intercultural and performative textuality; unfortunately in the case of Lovecraft that is largely not so. Unlike his aptly named 'weird' fiction, in its strict and conservative adoption of the English language it finds difficulties in communicating anything weird, Lovecraft's poetry seems trapped in a diction and rhyming scheme that belongs even further in the past than the original gothic period which his work alludes to. We must not forget, however, that he did write most if not all of his poetry in periods before he started writing the weird fiction that made him famous (at least post-humously) and can be related to his desperate conservatism, although many of the themes of his stories are represented - if superficially - in verse."
